Magee's Bright Spot Can't Overcome Revs
After a foul early in the first half, Gilberto would be sent off on a stretcher, that would sum up the night for the MetroStars as a losing effort the Revolution would come down to one goal.

The first half would start the aggressive fest, as injuries to many players came including two having to leave the game (Gilberto & Adin Brown). The MetroStars controlled most of the first half having many great headers of their many corners taken from Mike Magee. The closest game when Ricardo Clark sent a glancing header towards net, Brown was able to get his body to it, and made the great save. The Revolution also had chances including Ralstonís horrible miss off a perfect ball into the box. The half would end scoreless, and Adin Brown would leave the lineup at halftime.

The second half would lead to the scoring, and the game getting out of control. Around the 60th minute Magee was left with the ball outside of the box, he took a long shot and it rocketed into the corner, Matt Reis was able to get a save on it.

The Revolution would get on the board first, after a defensive breakdown by Eddie Pope, Revolution forward Felix Brillant would run onto the ball, an attempted foul by Tim Regan would leave the whole MetroStars standings, as they had expected a stoppage in play. Walker stood as Brillant knocked the ball slowly past him.

Less than 5 minutes later the Metros would give the Revs another golden chance with another breakdown in the defense. Clint Dempsey would be the one who got the chance as he ran through the whole Metroís defense and beat Jonny Walker.

Again in the 70th minute the MetroStars had a great chance as Ricardo Clark brought down a ball off the bounce and struck it from outside of the box, Matt Reis got all ball as he moved to make the catch.

In the 83rd minute Amado Guevara would bring down the Revís Jose Cancela, after quick apologies, Amado walked away and Richie Baker began to taunt Guevara, Amado would get the yellow for it and not Baker.

Mike Magee would again give the MetroStars life, in the 89th minute as he tried to bring down a great pass in the box. Reis came out and challenged but brought down Magee in the process. The call would stand as a penalty kick. Amado would be the one to take it, but it would have to be redone because Matt Reis was arguing with the ref. After the goal was scored Reis refused to give up the ball and pushed the linesman, no card was awarded. The Metros would go home with a 2-1 loss.
