Metros get burned in 2-0 loss
After a late game effort to tie it at 1, the MetroStars find themselves in a 2-0 loss after a late goal from a Dallas counter attack. After amazing saves from Jonny Walker and friends, the Metros couldn't hold on for the full ninety minutes or come up with anything productive in front of goal.

The first half was dominated by a star filled Metro team, a team that may fall apart next week with many national team call ups. A dull half, but much possession by the Metros led to a scoreless draw during the first half, but that would change during the second half as the flood gates opened.

Early in the second half Walker came up with an amazing two save sequence, and a kick save by Eddie Pope to protect a shot that was heading in. This followed by many more attempts by Dallas.

Later in the half the Metros pushed for the equalizer. Wolyniec had a great break after getting around Scott Garlick he was unable to lift a cross into the empty net.

Dallas found their way onto the board first after a great run by Ronnie O'Brien led to a perfect back pass to Eddie Johnson who hit the ball hard and low leaving Walker no chance at a save.

Productive efforts by Eddie Gaven and Mark Lisi led to many other attempts, but non of which found their way into the net. After giving it their all they got burned near the end. A counter attack would end the game for the Metros as a 10 man offense was broken and sent Dallas on the run. Ronnie O'Brien gave the ball a knock to Toni Nhleko who finished on the break away to give Dallas the 2-0 win.
