Galaxy, Crew scoreless after Ninety-Minutes
Late in the first half, the Galaxy's Jovan Kirovski carved up an opportunity when he made a turn on the left wing to free space for himself and went towards the Crew box. Kirovski's shot was easily saved by Crew goalkeeper Jon Busch. Kyle Martino(CLB) had a second half-chance on 39 minutes to finish off a nice piece of attacking soccer from the Columbus midfield. The Galaxy's best chance was in the 45th minute when Carlos Ruiz(LA) tried to chip the ball over goalkeeper Jon Busch(CLB) but the 'keeper blocked the attempt into the corner. Ruiz didn't give up on the ball, though, and crossed to strike-partner Jovan Kirovski, whose header went over the bar.

Both defenses held strong after the break, limiting the chances on goal on either end. Kyle Martino was once again on the thick of things in the 68th minute but once again he failed to convert his chance. Crew forward Edson Buddle had a chance to break the deadlock four minutes later, but his shot from 18 yards was right at Kevin Hartman(LA). Duncan Oughton(CLB) came closest to securing a result in the 82nd minute with a rocket of a shot that hit the underside of the crossbar. Hartman was fortunate enough to have the rebound fall right into his pocket and he scooped it up before the Crew could pounce on the loose ball.

The Columbus Crew will be back in action on Wednesday when they host the Kansas City Wizards at 7:30 p.m. The Galaxy stay home again next weekend as the Chicago Fire come to town for a 10 p.m. ET kickoff (tape-delay on ESPN2 at midnight).
